This week in P6/7 we enjoyed playing handball with P4/5. We also had great fun working as a team on our chocolatey packaging production line. We had to work collaboratively to follow the steps and be as efficient as possible.
Primary 2 and Primary 2/3 have been developing their coordination, rhythm, and teamwork skills through dance. We have been learning how to keep in time with the beat, follow simple choreographed sequences, and move safely in the space around us. The children's enthusiasm and progress has been wonderful to see.
P6/7 have been learning traditional Scottish country dances! We've been practicing the St Bernard's Waltz, the Canadian Barn Dance, and the Gay Gordons. It's been great fun, and we've discovered just how energetic (and exhausting!) ceilidh dancing can be.
This week in P7 was packed with exciting learning experiences! We learned numeracy skills through Building Thinking Classrooms, where pupils collaborated and had fun solving challenges in creative ways. This week Primary 5 began working with David from West Lothian Community Foundation on the 'Football Champions' programme. Football Champions is a 12 session programme aimed at P5-P7 young people to gain leadership, confidence, and football skills. This morning, some of our Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils visited Inveralmond Community High School to take part in the first North Area Football Festival of the year. Today, Primary 6 had the opportunity to work with a group of West Lothian College HND students in fun fitness tests, relay races and games. The children had a brilliant time and are really looking forward to their next session.
Primary 6/7 have been working with coach Sam from Livingston Rugby Club on Friday mornings. We have been enjoying experiencing the game and learning new skills.
P7 had a great time on their trip to Almond Valley Heritage Centre. We took part in their 'Wild Maths' learning activities! We tasted and grew our own micro-greens, learned about different animals and had lots of fun with our friends!
This morning Primary 3 took part in a very wet outdoor learning session with Kids Gone Wild. We had fun exploring the woods, climbing trees and we bravely had a go at slacklining. We had the best time being wet, messy and outdoors!
