We have been looking at addition and subtraction in Numeracy and have been focusing on inverse operations. Primary 2 and Primary 2/3 have been developing their coordination, rhythm, and teamwork skills through dance. We have been learning how to keep in time with the beat, follow simple choreographed sequences, and move safely in the space around us. The children's enthusiasm and progress has been wonderful to see.
P6/7 have been learning traditional Scottish country dances! We've been practicing the St Bernard's Waltz, the Canadian Barn Dance, and the Gay Gordons. It's been great fun, and we've discovered just how energetic (and exhausting!) ceilidh dancing can be.
For the last 4 weeks, Primary 1 have been singing and playing games with Mrs Gray from NYCOS. We have had lots of fun learning some new songs that we will continue to sing in class.
This week in P7 was packed with exciting learning experiences! We learned numeracy skills through Building Thinking Classrooms, where pupils collaborated and had fun solving challenges in creative ways. Primary 2/3 had the exciting opportunity to visit West Lothian college last week, to take part in a fantastic play-based and outdoor learning experience. Primary 5 and Primary 6 enjoyed collaborating with one another during an outdoor scavenger hunt. All groups demonstrated excellent team working skills and enjoyed being outside.
This morning Primary 3 took part in a very wet outdoor learning session with Kids Gone Wild. We had fun exploring the woods, climbing trees and we bravely had a go at slacklining. We had the best time being wet, messy and outdoors!
P6/7 have been investigating Christmas in Bulgaria. As part of their learning the learned a Bulgarian Carol and want ed to share their learning with the rest of the school. Yesterday P6/7 went carolling to the different blocks to share their song. Listen to it here: https://youtu.be/6X_kAovxXjs
Primary 4 and Primary 4/5 have been enjoying music sessions with Eamonn from Infectious Grooves. After weeks of learning new skills in drumming and rhythm, each class confidently shared their learning in a showcase performance for the rest of the school.
